Andrew O'Rorke

Andrew O'Rorke is the Chairman of Hayes solicitors having previously served as Managing Partner.

He has particular expertise in defamation (he is the adviser to Ireland's leading newspaper) and has represented various high profile clients in vindicating and defending their reputations.

Andrew also specialises in commercial, employment and retail law and litigation. He has represented clients in a number of leading equality, contempt and competition cases before the High Court, Supreme Court and the European Court of Justice. He is a registered Trade Mark Agent (member of ECTA and AIPPI).

He has served as Vice Chairman of the Employment Appeals Tribunal and as a member of the Determination Committees established under the Stock Exchange and Investment Intermediaries Acts of 1995.

In addition, Andrew has lectured to business on the practical implementation of competition law both Irish and European, to journalists and media representatives on the law of defamation and to distributors and wholesalers on distributive and retail law in Ireland.
