Companies (Amendment) Act 2009

Earlier in the year we flagged proposed changes to Company law in the Companies (Amendment) Bill 2009. The changes proposed are now law, the President having signed the bill in July.

The Act provides for:

• Increased powers for the Director of Incorporate Enforcement

• Increased regulation of transactions involving Directors

• Increased regulation of Directors of licence banks

• Alterations to the residency requirements for Directors of Irish registered companies.

For more details on these changes, please follow the link to our earlier article on the changes in June of this year.
