After completing a Law degree in University College Dublin Stephen qualified as a solicitor in April 2008. He trained in a medical negligence defence firm in Cork and worked in their litigation department for a year following qualification. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in England and Wales in February 2009 and worked for two years in a medical defence firm in London.

Stephen's work has involved defending clinical negligence claims for public hospitals, private hospitals and clinics. He has experience in providing advice to healthcare providers on all aspects of healthcare law including consent to treatment, the management of clinical trials and risk management issues. He has worked in an environment with an emphasis on alternative dispute resolution and case management.

Working in the Healthcare Department Stephen specialises in the defence of medical and dental negligence claims taken against hospitals as well as individual medical and dental practitioners. Stephen has an extensive caseload touching on all aspects of medical and dental law and works as part of a team on a number of catastrophic injury claims.
