Martha joined the Healthcare team upon qualification in December 2007 having spent the previous three years training with the firm. She works primarily in medical litigation, defending negligence claims taken against hospitals as well as individual medical and dental practitioners. Martha is also involved in alternative means of resolving medical negligence claims, and in particular, mediation. In addition to contentious matters, Martha also deals with non-claims issues. She has assisted in the defence of medical professionals before the Medical Council and is involved in providing practical advice to healthcare professionals in the areas of data protection and freedom of information law. Martha has lectured to Diploma students of Health Services Policy on topics such as the Irish legal system, general legal principles, data protection and freedom of information in both clinical and non-clinical settings.
