The Small Firms Association Commercial Law Seminar in conjunction with Hayes solicitors 19th October 2009
Hayes solicitors were delighted to give a commercial law seminar to members of the Smalls Firms Association on 19th October 2009.
Deirdre McCarthy gave an overview of insolvency law and practical tips for dealing with an insolvency situation. She outlined types of insolvency and issues for creditors including retention of title.
Joe O’Malley outlined the duties of directors and officers of companies in difficulty. He also addressed bankruptcy and the problems facing landlords and tenant in insolvency.
Laura Fannin discussed contract terms for the supply of goods and services and highlighted other business law issues for small and medium sized firms.
David Phelan spoke about competition law and gave an overview of the key points in the relevant legislation such as anti-competitive agreements and practices, price-fixing, abuse of a dominant position, penalties and the current competition enforcement climate.
